Ham Plumber, 1862:
Inventor, natural philosopher, drunkard. Seems to have been one of the first people to settle Tempest Bay in the 1860s, after an incident with a shipwreck. Prone to wandering the clifftops naked.

Ham was arrested many times in Wellington city for public disorder. He died sometime before 1900, perhaps in one of the shoreline caves of the Bay, leaving no gravesite. But of course his family line endures, all through Tempest Bay and along the wild south coast.
